CPR, AED, First Aid certification is being offered to A.K.E.A. students and families on November 12

In the words of Mr. Preston, Business Continuity Manager and Duty Officer in the Emergency Management Department for the University of Washington, “someone can never learn too much first aid/CPR or self defense.”  As a volunteer firefighter and EMT, Mr. Preston uses his training in the real world, having performed CPR 3 times in the last 8 years.  He wants to share his knowledge with YOU!

The A.K.E.A. and Mr. Preston are offering this valuable training to our students and families at the low price of $50.  With a 3 to 1 ratio for students to equipment, we guarantee you plenty of “hands-on” time with Rescue Annie and the AED.

Mr. Preston will be teaching the  Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED.  Take a look at their website to see what you can expect from this course.

You will need to bring:

  1. your own CPR mask (mask, not face-shield). It is available for under $10 on Amazon.
  2. lunch, snacks, water.
  3. knee pads if kneeling on the floor will bother you.

This course requires a minimum of 6 and a has a maximum of 15.  Please register by emailing Mrs. Barnette right away to reserve your space.
