As you may know, a sales tax on martial arts instruction was enacted in January, 2016.  This has added a financial burden on students and martial arts schools across Washington.  It has resulted in student withdrawals and closures of schools.  We at the A.K.E.A. support the reversal of the sales tax on martial arts schools, and we encourage you to get involved.  

The Washington Martial Arts Association has been actively fundraising to keep lobbyists working on our behalf.  They have hope of reversing the tax in April, but they need help.  They are currently in urgent financial need in order to keep the lobbyists through March.  Please see their flyer and respond if you too would like to join this fight.
